( 01 ) — the point

Computers are usually taught as things to use. Here, they are treated as systems to understand.

You will install, dismantle, test, replace, configure and troubleshoot under guidance. The theory is there to make the hands-on work precise—not to replace it.

( 02 ) — three systems

Three parts.
One working machine.

Each module builds on the last: the operating system, the physical machine and the network around it.

( 03 ) — the blueprint

Twelve Sundays.
One clear line.

Every session adds a skill you use again later. The final Sunday brings software, hardware and networking into one complete diagnostic exercise.

WEEK 01

Computer systems fundamentals

Identify computer types, internal and external components, operating systems, essential tools and safe troubleshooting habits.
WEEK 02

Windows installation and formatting

+
Prepare installation media, work with BIOS and UEFI settings, format and partition drives, and complete a clean Windows installation.
WEEK 03

Drivers, software and system setup

+
Find the correct drivers, install essential applications, configure updates, user accounts and security settings.
WEEK 04

Malware removal and optimization

+
Recognize infections, remove viruses and unwanted software, and diagnose slow, unstable or overloaded systems.
WEEK 05

Data backup and recovery

+
Compare backup methods, test storage health and practise responsible recovery of deleted or inaccessible files.
WEEK 06

Hardware and diagnostics

+
Understand CPUs, RAM, motherboards and power supplies; check compatibility and isolate common component failures.
WEEK 07

Storage installation and upgrades

+
Install HDD, SSD and NVMe storage, migrate data, clone drives, and compare drive health and performance.
WEEK 08

Laptop disassembly and repair

+
Disassemble and reassemble safely; replace storage, memory, batteries, keyboards and cooling components.
WEEK 09

Multimeters and soldering

Learn electrical fundamentals, test continuity and voltage safely, inspect components and practise introductory soldering.
WEEK 10

Boards, displays and graphics

+
Inspect circuit boards and connectors, and diagnose screen, display, video-output and graphics-card problems.
WEEK 11

Networks and router configuration

+
Work with LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and IP addressing; configure a router and share files, printers and devices.
WEEK 12

Troubleshooting and final practical

Use remote-access and network utilities, diagnose a complete device scenario and complete the final practical exercise.

( 04 ) — the repair bench

This is not a slide-deck course. Participants learn through guided work with computers, components, storage devices, routers, electronic boards and diagnostic tools.

Participants who meet the attendance requirements and successfully complete the final practical assessment receive an Atelier Structure Certificate of Completion.

Shared tools and selected practice devices are used during sessions. Participants may be asked to bring a laptop, notebook and USB drive; final requirements are confirmed before the cohort begins.

Do I need technical experience?

No. The course begins with fundamentals and builds progressively. Curiosity, consistent attendance and a willingness to work carefully matter more than previous experience.

Do I need my own computer?

+
A personal laptop is useful for software exercises but is not the only device used. Shared practice equipment is part of the hands-on sessions.

Is this lecture-based?

No. Each Sunday combines focused instruction, a demonstration and guided practice with real equipment.
